Škoda's upcoming electric vehicle (EV) lineup is set to expand with the introduction of the Peaq, a large family SUV that promises to be the most expensive Škoda model to date. This development comes as the company continues to solidify its position as one of Europe's most successful EV manufacturers, despite initial predictions of its demise in the face of the electric vehicle trend. The Peaq, which will be available in a seven-seat configuration, is expected to be approximately 16 feet, 5 inches long, offering a larger interior space compared to the Epiq, its smaller sibling. While the Peaq's technical specifications and pricing remain undisclosed, it is anticipated to be priced around $30,000 in the US, making it a significant step up from the Epiq, which is currently the best-selling electric car in Europe. This price point positions the Peaq in a new category of more affordable electric cars, competing with models like the VW ID.Polo, ID.Cross, and Cupra Raval, as well as competitors from Renault and Kia. The Peaq's design is expected to closely resemble the Vision 7S concept unveiled in 2022, with a minimalist elegance that sets it apart from the rugged, off-road character of the Epiq. Despite the Peaq's premium positioning, it is anticipated to be a success, drawing on the success of more expensive versions of current top-of-the-line models like the electric Enyaq and the combustion-engine Kodiaq.
